Igalamela/Odolu : Attack on PDP Secretariat Threatens Our Peace towards 2023 Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government (LG) Secretary, Hon. Achimugu Ojodale Samson said enemies of development in Igalamela/Odolu LG were behind the zero-sum nature,  predatory character, hate speech, campaign of calumny and  molestation of the newly commissioned PDP administrative block at Odolu overnight.

We are aware PDP Secretariat is situated at the state headquarters, even in Okene the hometown of HE Governor Yahaya Bello and such dastardly act have not being heard.

Hon. Achimugu disclosed this to Koginfo at Ajaka headquarters of  Igalamela/Odolu LG that the old Secretariat was maliciously ceased from PDP Odolu by Hon. Friday Sani Makama, former House of Assembly Member after deflecting to opposition recently. This happened on the ground that  he claimed to have  sponsored PDP to occupy the building and utilize it. After decamping Makama change the music as an opposition”. 

He continued : “ The old PDP Secretariat historical speaking was given to PDP by Odolu Community (free of charge) over a decade ago. However, as a law abiding political party, the matter was reported to the current Chief Security Officer and  Igalamela Odolu LG  Chairman, Hon Onoja Ignatius Omachonu and other security agencies. 

“In fairness a committee was set up by Igalamela/Odolu LG to look into the matter. In the interest of peace PDP was asked to forfeit the building in question. Consequently, a new community building was reissued to the PDP at Odolu. 

It is a clear manifestation, Odolu community is a home  of hospitality and peace for all political parties to thrive. The outcome of free and fair election day would determine where the good people of Odolu belongs to, not building.” 

The new building offered PDP was commissioned by the current Local Government party Chairman, Hon. Isah Adejo amidst jubilations.

 This celebration attracted party loyalist and avalanches of people. The occasion was graced by mammoth crowd from neighbouring polling units, villages and suburb. 

However, it is striking, puzzling and preposterous, the same Secretariat was attacked, burgled and molested over the night, after ground breaking commissioning with APC opposition party inscription all over the building. This is sacrilegious, a taboo and of course unacceptable !

In retrospect, PDP/APC in Igalamela/Odolu LG and at the state level have being operating in a  peaceful, harmonious and friendly atmosphere without blemish. We wondered where this strange behavior emanated from. It is not as if we are in serious political activities or  contests as it is in election period. We have being enjoying smooth relationship all this while before this ugly interruption.”

We are calling on H.E Alhaji Yahaya Bello ,Governor of Kogi State , The Chairman Igalamela/Odolu LG and the state Chairman of APC to call actors of APC in Odolu ward to order before it degenerate into polical crisis.”: He added
