Pastor Shehu Ocheni and Wife Dedicates Baby in Church (Photos)

Building a better life for every child is a lot harder than becoming a world champion. Both goals demand dedication and commitment. Pst Shehu and Mrs Love Ocheni boldly make this vow dedicating  their newly born baby Sophia Urah Chimgozirim Shehu in Church today, to raise her according to God's Word and His ways.

The dedication ceremony happened before the Lord at Four Square Gospel Church, Ofiji Idah Kogi State today. Invited guest, friends and well wishers including representative from Koginfo International were present to celebrate with them in a grand style.

The practice of baby dedication is rooted in this passage found in Deuteronomy 6:4-7. It stipulates Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord before the church congregation to do everything within their power to raise the child in a Godly way — prayerfully — until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God. 

 Pst Shehu and his wife who made this vow, or commitment, were instructed by the officiating Pastor to raise the child in the ways of God and not according to their own ways. 

Some of the responsibilities include teaching and training the child in God's Word, demonstrating practical examples of Godliness, disciplining the child according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for the child. 

“... for the gift of our precious daughter, He is being a good God. Even before we asked,  the Lord brought her our way. And we are grateful to God" : Mrs Love Ocheni said in a vote of thanks
