Kogi Coronavirus Fight: No More No Ventilator Machines to Fight Pandemic As Natasha Akpoti Donated Three (3) to Federal Medical Center Lokoja
A ventilator is a machine that provides mechanical ventilation by moving breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breaths to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently. Modern ventilators are computerized microprocessor machines, but patients can also be ventilated with a simple, hand-operated bag valve mask. Ventilators are chiefly used in intensive-care , home care and emergency medicine (as standalone units) and in anaesthesiology (as a component of an anaesthesia machine).
"This gesture was prompted upon the knowledge that Kogi State in its entirety had no ventilator to fight this Coronavirus pandemic. It’s my utmost desire to see these equipments being used free of charge to treat the poorest of us beyond ethnicity, religion and political divides.My only wish was to be present physically but I’m still recovering.
