Presidency: Yahaya Bello’s Rejection, A Clear Testament Of Unimpressive Performance As Governor – Kogi APC Chieftain

A founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state, Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu, has counseled Governor Yahaya Bello to relocate to Lokoja, sit up and make the best use of the remaining time of his tenure.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Wednesday, Saidu said the outcome of the just concluded APC special convention where Bello came a distant fifth clearly shows majority of delegates from Kogi did not believe in the Governor’s presidential adventure.

Akawu, a former lawmaker and aspirant in the last APC House of Representatives primary election, said Gov. Yahaya Bello’s dismal performance at the presidential primary election is a clear testament of his unimpressive performance as Governor of the state.

The Galadima of Koton Karfe made the disclosure against the background that the Governor couldn’t harvest all the delegates he selected from the State.

“Finally, the Presidential Primary Election of our great party, the APC, has come and gone. Congratulations to the winner and flag bearer.

“For my governor and only aspirant for Kogi State, it is time to take a deep and sober reflection of your over 6 years stewardship in Kogi State, especially the leadership of our party.

“You have over one year left on the saddle as governor. I think it is time you commit yourself to improve governance so that history can manage to be fair to you and your administration.

“The outcome of the primaries clearly shows that majority of delegates from Kogi did not believe in your presidential adventure.

“This is a clear testament of your not too impressive performance index as the governor of the State.

“My candid and sincere advice is that you have to sit up and make the best use of the remaining time of your tenure. Relocate back to Lokoja and face your duty squarely and within the remaining time make governance inclusive.

“Enough of Abuja jamboree where almost all the government officials now stay having abandoned their various duty posts.

“We fought hard under the leadership of late Prince Abubakar Audu to dislodge PDP in our state, let your performance as governor and party leader not be a cause of losing the state back to PDP.

“A stich in time saves nine. This is an advice from a concerned stakeholder who fought like a true soldier of democracy to bring about APC administration in our dear state,” he said.
