BELLO IS A TRICKSTER : NLC, O%, 10%, SALARY WILL RECLAIM KOGI NEW MINIMUM WAGE IF NOT MONITORED
Approving minimum wage in a resposive and purposeful governance should not seen as an achievement in your score card. Rather, it is your sole duty to address the pains, yearnings and primary needs of the masses especially workers under your office..
Recall, the national minimum wage was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari in April 2019. Since then, the implementation of the national minimum wage has been a tale of mixed fortunes across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. While some states are in compliance, others are not especially Kogi State under the leadership of Alhaji Yaya Bello APC led government.
Kudos to the Leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), you have won this battle of Musanga with hydra-headed government for democracy, rule of law, fair play and justice. The timing of the struggle is very strategic, because the Yaya Bello we know would not have approved N30,000 for Kogi workers if not because of the possible consequence it has on his presidential ambition. Bello finds it difficult to cope with the name civil servants or workers. He believe governance is easy without the name workers.
Long live NLC for turning the hand of the clock for the good of everyone. NLC should not rest on its oars as the Greek gift offered through the right hand might be collected via the left hand under the sinister guise of 0%, 20% , salary to build unrealistic airport or refinery. Beware
