COVID-19 Update : Five New Discoveries, 323 Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria


With five new discoveries - two in Lagos State; two in Kwara State State; and one in Katsina State, Nigeria now has 323 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19). 

 "As at 09:10pm of April 12, there were 323 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. A total number of 85 patients have been discharged, 10 deaths have been recorded so far": said the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). 

 There are 19 states with confirmed cases in Nigeria. This includes: 
 Lagos - 176, FCT - 56
 Osun - 20,  Edo - 12
 Oyo - 11 , Ogun - 7 
Bauchi - 6,  Kaduna - 6 
Akwa Ibom - 5,  Katsina - 5
 Kwara - 4,  Delta - 3
 Enugu - 2, Ekiti - 2 
Rivers - 2,  Ondo - 2
 Benue - 1, Niger - 1 
Anambra - 1 Kano - 1 

 Meanwhile, NCDC has said there are drugs currently undergoing clinical trial. Scientists arw busy working towards finding a cure for COVID-19.

  "Some have shown promising results in laboratory studies . The efficaciousness of such drugs is yet to be proved in human beings.

 "Please avoid self-medication as it may lead to complications and death": NCDC advised.
