..Tags DSS as a Tool for Setttling Personal Political Disputes 

The arrest and detention of an online influencer, Saidu Adamu, by Nigeria's secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS), has sparked outrage from some people, including a 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

According to Sowore, Adamu, popularly known as "Cartoon BoyTV," was arrested by DSS officials in Abuja after returning from Accra, Ghana, on allegations of criticizing the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja.

After a brief detention in Abuja, Adamu was transferred to the Kogi State headquarters of the DSS, where he is being held without trial.

Sowore has called for Adamu's immediate release, describing the DSS as a tool for settling personal political disputes instead of protecting the citizens.

"The DSS continues to disgrace itself by allowing the agency to become a tool for settling personal political disputes instead of security of citizens.

The DSS must release Saidu Adamu immediately!" Sowore wrote on his Twitter handle.
