Lokoja Flood: Kogi Did Not Learn from 2012.

The lesson learnt from the 2012 flood in Lokoja was why governor Wada initiated the construction of the alternative bypass through Ganaja (Ega Anaja) and Otokiti/Army barracks.

The construction was ongoing before Governor Yahaya Bello assumed office as governor in 2016. But work was put on hold immediately governor Yahaya Bello took over.

From the unfavourable experiences of the 2012 flood in Lokoja, the government of Kogi state after Wada/Awoniyi shouldn't have abandoned this all important road for 7 years past.

Governor Yahaya Bello should as a matter of urgency have a quick rethink and continue the construction of GANAJA/OTOKITI bypass which was 40% ongoing before abandonment.

Road users are going through hard times and uncertainties using this road now.

Should the people wait till the next flood comes?
