Editorial: Governor Bello and A Lifestyle of Cancelled Culture to The Igalas

An Editorial Expressing The views of Koginfo on Abuse of Office Meted Out to Attah Igala by Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello

Yahaya Bello and The Lifestyle of Cancelled Culture Before A Revered Royal Father of Igala Land: Unacceptable
When something is cancelled, it is nulled, ended, or voided. Done, over, no longer wanted, like a taboo. In Igaland, this sense of cancel is the basic idea behind any unrecognised and negative practices capable of demeaning, dehumanizing, cancelling a person, a nation and the igalaness in every igalaman, woman, sons and daughters

Culture is a way of life for people.  When the way of life of the number one seat of the Igala kingdom is cancelled, it is  longer supported publicly.

The current attitude of our young and ebullient youth greeting their parents or elder persons with a mere nod of the head stems from our leaders who are expected to be role models but failed to do so.

The dignity of the culture of the land is fast eroding owing to a lack of reinforcement of values by our elders and.leaders,  directly or indirectly with attendant consequences on posterity.

Usually, the sanctity of Attah's palace is relegated and believed to be cancelled after it has been discovered defaced, ruined and disrespected. It is considered a sacrilege offensive. It involves calling out the bad behaviour to order. THE DISRESPECT OF THE GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE  ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY THE ATTAH OF IGALA LAND MATHEW OPALUWA  MUST BE CONDEMNED IN THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE TERMS.

NO GOVERNOR RECEIVES A ROYAL BLESSING FROM A MUCH RESPECTED FATHER IN NIGERIA WITHOUT THE BENEFICIARY PARTICULARLY A MALE PERSON REMOVING HIS CAP, EVEN SPECTACLE, then bowing or genuflecting AS A SIGN OF RESPECT.

Even if Yahaya BELLO is by the hierarchy in government above Attah, Igala culture remains sacrosanct and must be observed strictly. This unwholesome, rudderless act must be condemned by all and sundry. And if Attah himself has any justification for allowing this sacrilege to happen in the public glare, we demand a press conference to defend this cancelled culture not heard of in the history of Igalaland
