Igalamela /Odolu : PDP Reacts to Friday Makama’s Defection to APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the decision by former Majority Leader Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Friday Sani Makama to defect to the opposition APC did not come to it as a surprising development.

In a communiqué released to pressmen by the LG party secretary Hon. Samson Ojodale Achimugu and signed by over thirty 30 stakeholders of the PDP, the defection of Makama does not affect the fortune of the party. The party is rather emboldened by such racketeering cross carpeting to hold the bull by the horn in defence of democracy.

This kind of defection is simply motivated by selfish personal political interest and inducement to switch allegiance that cannot hold water.

“... the defection of the former Majority Leader Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Friday Sani Makama does not call for panic. While we disassociate ourselves as a party from such political racketeering and cross-carpeting.

Such personal political slump rather makes the party more strong and sacrosanct in the defence of democracy as well as the will of the electorate and never the reverse. Besides, the  good people of Igalamela/Odolu LG at home and in diaspora have indicated interest to rejoin PDP more than ever recorded in the history of the party. This is because of our believe in the rule of law, fair play (not fowl play) and accountability.” PDP Igalamela/Odolu Said

“The PDP Igalamela/Odolu LG expressed their satisfaction over the conduct of prominent and well meaning members of the party irrespective of the current nomenclature as opposition group.  We have  agreed to continue sustaining such harmony, oneness and smooth relationship that would be leveraged towards consummating the quest for positive change we all clamour for, at the home front democracy and indeed Kogi State, and Nigeria as a whole.”: The Party added
